Welcome to the 44th
Annual Nordic
Ergonomics Society
Conference!

It is a great pleasure to invite you to the 44th Annual Conference of the Nordic Ergonomics Society. The annual conference rotates among the Nordic countries, and in 2012 it will be hosted by the Ergonomics & Human Factors Society Sweden in Stockholm, Sweden’s beautiful and historical capital situated at the border of our world-famous archipelago with more than 25 000 islands in the Baltic Sea and is easily accessible from all over the world.

The conference venue is the historic Saltsjöbaden, where the 1938 agreement between trade unions and employers was singed and still is in effect. This forms the basis of "the Swedish model" a labour market without government interference.

The Nordic Ergonomics Society (NES) conference brings together researchers and practitioners with an interest in ergonomics. This facilitates the sharing of results and contributes to the foundation and strengthening of networks that improve the quality of ergonomic research and practice. The organizers invite participants from all over the world to join this traditional Nordic conference. The theme of the conference is "Ergonomics for Sustainability and Growth". With this theme we would like to contribute to a better understanding of how both individuals and organisations can benefit from good ergonomics.

We welcome contributions from all different aspects of ergonomics. Good ergonomics is built on the basis of profound and well-founded research and investigations from both industry and practitioners.

The conference language will be English.
